About Farmer Phil’s Festival
Farmer Phil's Festival is a musically diverse annual event that originally started in 1998 in a corner of one of Farmer Phil's fields near Shrewsbury in Shropshire. The main stage was simply a marquee, with an outside bar serving beer off the back of a 40ft flatbed trailer. As the festival has grown, so has the stage, line up and the entire infrastructure of the event. We welcome around 2,000 music lovers every year.
In 2007, a second stage was brought into the festival arena, followed by an additional comedy stage. We've increased the amount of workshops, children's entertainment and stalls. Most recently the arena, along with the legendary rotating stage, have been moved to a new location, overlooking a fishing lake and woodland. The arena has undergone extensive groundwork and has full drainage, so that surface remains stable regardless of the weather! Our second stage - a solid structure built by Farmer Phil's team - is now situated within the woodland on site.
With the annual event now established as a popular boutique festival, Farmer Phil does not wish for it to grow any further. All future plans are focused on maintaining the extended family atmosphere between our returning festival goers, traders and all of the hard working volunteers who bring the event together year after year.
We welcome our weekend ticket holders to come and camp for a full week's holiday. With a huge area of open National Trust moorland on the doorstep, there is plenty to see, do and explore.
